A Time Clock for Small Clinics and Labs

Passkey Punch is a time clock for dental offices, vet clinics, PT practices, urgent care and testing labs with 5 to 40 hourly staff. Staff scan a QR sign at your site and confirm with a passkey on their own phone, using their face, fingerprint or phone passcode. There's no app to install, no password, and no kiosk to buy. It doesn't connect to patient records or store patient data.

How clocking in works

  1. Scan the sign. Post a QR sign at the staff entrance or front desk. Staff open their phone camera and tap the link.
  2. Location check. Their phone confirms they're at your site, so a photo of the sign won't work from home.
  3. Confirm with a passkey. They use their face, fingerprint or passcode. Passkey Punch already knows whether they're clocking in or out.

New staff set up once. You send them a link, they open it on their own phone with you there, and they tap "Enroll passkey." See the employee help page.

Why it fits clinics and labs

Kept separate from patient care

Passkey Punch only records staff punches: who, when and which site. It doesn't connect to your EHR or practice management system, and it doesn't store patient information.

FAQ

Do I need a kiosk or tablet at the front desk?

No. Staff use their own phones. All you need is a printed QR sign at the site.

Does it touch patient data or our EHR?

No. It only records staff clock-ins and clock-outs, and it doesn't connect to any EHR or patient system.

Do employees need to download an app?

No. It works in the phone's web browser.

Does Passkey Punch store my employees' fingerprints or faces?

No. The face or fingerprint check happens on the phone, and that data stays there. Passkey Punch only learns that the passkey was used. See how passkeys work.

What if an employee's phone doesn't have Face ID or a fingerprint reader?

They can use their phone's passcode instead. No smartphone? They can clock in on their own tablet or computer instead.
